La Galerie Hotel French Quarter

We arrived 30 min before official "check in" time and asked the gentleman if it was okay to check in early -- he enthusiastically said yes, our room was ready. The room is cute and modern. My ONLY complaint about the room was the shower pressure and noise BUT if you leave your TV on low, it gets rid of a lot of the other guests noise (walking in the hall/etc). There are two sets of stairs that lead you outside (get back in with your room keycard) AND an elevator. We utilized the stairs a lot-- especially for smoke breaks. This place was close enough to everything to enjoy but not close enough to deal with the raging partying noise that goes on. The employees of the restaurant next door are nice (met them on 'smoke breaks') as well as the staff at the hotel. There are some homeless in the area (as any city has)-- just be very respectful of everyone---they didn't bother us. We donated rain covers and umbrellas on our last day (as we wouldn't need them anymore). All the employees were super friendly at the hotel--- the gentleman with the long braids at night (HIYA!!!) and the older gal during the day.....both welcoming and a riot to talk to!! You wont need to bring shampoo/etc because there are pump bottles inside the bathrooms. Literally, anything you need, ask.

We stayed here for a week in June and everything was great! Room was a good size with plenty of space. Restroom was a little small but not bad (Very clean and well kept) The location is AWESOME. Walking distance to everything, and the lobby had a cooler with cold water at all times (a great welcome on hot humid summer days) Staff was always nice and check in on us regularly via text. Would definitely recommend and stay here again. Forgot to mention parking.... We chose to book parking with the hotel and paid for it with the room reservation. I couldn't find much info on where the parking was before we booked, but the parking garage they use is PERFECT! It is connected to Canal Place Mall. Very easy to navigate and VERY secure (covered parking). Its about two block walk to the hotel which was very convenient.

This hotel is adorable!! Very clean, great location, perfect for exploring downtown New Orleans without being right on Bourbon in the middle of the debauchery. The rooms were a great size, bed was super comfy, and all of the employees were so friendly. The only negatives were the water pressure - ladies, don’t plan on washing your hair while you’re there because it’ll take you hours to wash out your products! And the parking situation, you have to park your car a mile away and walk back to the hotel. Other than those things we loved it!

Absolutely wonderful location and comfortable room. The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful. The only draw back was that we arrived very late at night and were unaware we would have to walk a few blocks to park our car. It was a pleasant walk but we were extremely tired from travel. Maybe a valet would be helpful for guests that arrive after hours.
